👑 this little princess is the selfie queen - @tiffany__dawn, you are an amazing mama and you have already raised some pretty incredible kids, I can’t wait to see how they grow... thank you for always letting me love on your little ones. . (P.S. I’ll make sure to send you the extreme close up silly selfie pics Lulu took on my phone - they may come in handy one day.... wink, wink.)
I call this my “Sweaty Post-Run Body + Self Appreciation” post (*with rant included) ———————————————————————— there are days when I wake up and want to throw my fist into the mirror until it shatters - does that ever happen to you? • there are mornings when all I can see are the red acne marks on my cheeks, the grey hairs sprouting on my head, or the “tiger stripe” stretch marks on my... other cheeks (ha). • there have been nights when I’ve broken down and cried over the struggle to find a “non-sports” bra that fits my small chest, or the struggle to find a concealer that can cover my pimples, or the struggle to locate a pair of skinny jeans that my curvy and athletic legs can actually wear. • but then there are brief moments like this when I think back and remember and appreciate all that my body has done, it has: — climbed mountains and monkey bars — surfed waves and swam with fishies — given cute little kids piggyback rides — scored goals and won medals — jumped off cliffs and jumped on beds — hung from high tree branches and ran through forests — danced under the stars and in the kitchen ———————————————————————— Celebrating the body I was born with is not always an easy process, there are good days and very bad (hair) days... but every day, I’m learning to love myself and value myself just a little bit more. • So if someone hasn’t told you today or if you just need a quick reminder - “Hey friend, yes, you there, your body is a badass machine of awesomeness and it’s filled with amazing superhero-like abilities, and despite some of it’s funky and unique flaws, it’s STILL perfect and it is ABSOLUTELY worthy of love. So don’t let the media or anyone else tell you anything different!” ❤️ #realtalk #theselflovestruggle
