It’s Go Time

After almost two years of twists and turns, setbacks and blessings, and some intense preparation… It’s time.

When the Lord promises to give us the desires of our hearts, He doesn’t cut us short. He goes above and beyond anything we could ever ask for or imagine. He exceeds expectations and shatters standards. He completely (and on a daily basis) demolishes the tiny box that I constantly try to put Him in…. And I love that about Him.

I had plans for my life that I “thought” were great, but they were also safe and small and comfortable. God had an entirely different set of plans that are mind blowing, risky, and wonderful. I get to live with my best friend in a beautiful country. I get to play and coach soccer, the sport my dad raised me on since I was 4 years old.

BUT, most importantly, I get to freely love and “do life” alongside of some sweet South Africans.

I’m sitting in Terminal F at Gate 19 waiting for my first flight to London with a stuffed moose named Chauncy on my lap. (He travels the world with me, don’t judge)

Do I miss my family already? Yes.
Am I nervous? Yes.

But I’m human, and these emotions will pass. Until then, I have the Word of God, and it says “do not be discouraged and do not be terrified, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you may go”

Am I alone? Never.

…And It’s go time.

  1. Sam! I have been praying for you pretty much every hour. What a gem we are sending to represent Christ! Stay humble and walk in His light. This time last year we started the wonderful Patmos journey together. And now you are off again! God knows what next January will have in store!! John 13:35

  2. The first leg of a dream is coming to fruition. How wonderful is that!!!
Believing in God and in yourself has made this come true for you. Others,
believing in you, have been used by God to help the process along. God is
with you as your journey begins, and so are the hearts of all those who love
God and “Moose” are comfortable companions on your journey. Hang on to
both of them as you venture on serving God and man, doing what you were
meant to do. How you will be missed, but time passes quickly…too quickly at times.
When you look up at your beautiful South African sky, remember we are looking up
at our beautiful South Florida sky sending love to you through the stars. You have reached for the
stars Sam. God has put them within your grasp.
As many stars as are in the sky, that’s how much love we have for you. Never forget!!!
